where: Ultimate X-Men Vol. 1, No. 9
the set up: Cain [Juggernaut] and Scott are commenting on Rogue's remarks about how if they all would have sided with Magneto, that they wouldn't be in their predicament. But what we really care about is what's going on in Fuzzy's scenes. Kurt's out of it, both physically and mentally, so Jean tries to comfort him. You can't see it 'cause it didn't get scanned, but in the final scene with Jean and Kurt, he's still unconscious on her lap but with a huge, silly, adorable grin plastered on his face.
Theresa's words: Agh! I love this series! The art, storyline... everything, although I wish that there was more time spent on Kurt and that he was recognized as part of the team.

where: Cable Vol.1, No. 88
the set up: Moira has died and Cable isn't dealing with it well.
Theresa's words: A wonderful issue, although it saddens me that Moira had to die for it to occur. What really makes me curious is where did Nate's uniform come from? He was in his civvies, and then, when he takes his coat off, there it is... Must be another one of his mutant abilities. The Cable's clothing debacle has been resolved thanks to the wonderful people at The Nightcrawler Monument.

where: Wolverine Vol. 1, No. 140
the set up: The elf and Wolverine are in a junkyard tracking a Magneto siting.
Theresa's words: A nice little snippage filled with one of my favorite pairings, but I just chose to show the first fight scene. Isn't it loverly?

where: Excalibur Vol. 1, No. 121
the set up: Excalibur has gone to Isreal to help Sabra defeat the three entities that used be a whole, called Legion. Sabra is reviewing Kurt's attack plans.
Theresa's words: Not one of my favorite issues, but the way Sabra even gets under Kurt's skin is amusing. Look at that pout!

where: The Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1, No. 153, 1982
the set up: Kitty is telling a young Illiyana a bedtime story and this is just a snippet of it.
Theresa's words: Why did I choose this page? Isn't it obvious? Look at all the Kurtage, BAMFs or otherwise! Not to mention, the whole issue was hilarious!

where: X-Men Unlimited Vol. 1, No. 32
the set up: This is part of the mini-story in the issue that involves Kurt going to confession. While he's there, rival street gangs start a fight.
Theresa's words: Oh. My. Goodness. The art in this story arc is absolutely fabulous! I demand you to get this issue, if just for the art! Lots 'n' lots of angry Elf! Woohoo!

where: Excalibur Annual Vol. 1, No. 2, 1994
the set up: The psychotic Selene, after barely escaping it herself, pushes Nightcrawler into the Spooling Chamber (which unravels DNA) and throws the switch. Daytripper, thoroughly pissed, uses her Magicks and blasts Selene into the swamp. Amanda then tries to find a way to get Kurt out of the chamber alive.
Theresa's words: Personally, I don't like the Kurt/Amanda pairing for several reasons: a) She's his freakin' foster sister! I don't care if there's no blood relation, they were raised as family. b) She's too moody and is a total flake... and finally, c) He can do so much better! Now, you must be thinking, "Then why did you choose this as one of your favorite scenes, you dork?" Well, for some reason, it struck something in me, God knows what, and I couldn't forget it. What? Don't buy that? You want the truth? All right, I don't know why, okay! : ) I just like it.

where: Excalibur Vol. 1, No. 42
the set up: Gatecrasher sent a time-bomb that blew up the lighthouse, and a brawl ensued between the two groups when Britton's heros refused to hand Rachel over (for some sort of cosmic crime), and of course because they [the assorted aliens] blew up their [Excalibur's] home, for Pete's sake! In this scene, Excalibur is fighting a losing battle with Gatecrasher and her motley crew, and when Widget pauses time, Kurt shows how inventive he can be.
Theresa's words: Ah, the days when Excalibur was more comic-relief than any of the other X-titles... I couldn't stop laughing through this entire issue and it was hard to choose, but this was one of my favorite parts because we get to see Kurt's devious li'l smirk. You oughtta get it just for kicks.

where: X-Men Unlimited Vol. 1, No. 36
the set up: Kurt flips out when remembering a dead friend [Colossus].
Theresa's words: I love people going off the deep end, and although I wasn't fond of Colossus, I was glad to see Kurt express his grief. Besides some scenes in Age of Apocalypse universe, you never really see the elf intentionally scare people and use his appearance to his negative "advantage," if you know what I mean. Too bad the art's kind of... overly-simple and the dialogue is choppy.
